Area events planned to support Israel

Numerous Israel-centered events are planned this week across the Kansas City metro to pray for peace and show support of Israel. Events include a rally at The Plaza Fountain to special guest speakers from Israel at local churches and a forum for Jews and Christians at the Jewish Community Center. See the local events below.

Why is it important to attend one of these events? The attacks on Israel Oct. 7 represented the largest mass murder of Jews in one day since the end of the Holocaust. The spokesman for Hamas says that they will continue attacks until there are no Jews left living in Israel. For Israel, this is an existential threat yet they are being isolated across the world by a very vocal minority supporting Hamas.

The Biden administration stated last week that there has been a record number of attacks on American Jews –more than at any time in history. Chants of “Gas the Jews” and “From the River to the Sea” echo across college campuses and Jewish students are being told to “shelter in place” on their university campuses.

Christians must stand with one voice in unity with the Jewish community.

Isaiah 61:1 states: “For Zion’s sake I will not keep silent, for Jerusalem’s sake I will not remain quiet, till her vindication shines out like the dawn, her salvation like a blazing torch.”

If you desire to learn more, see beyond the headlines, learn why the Oct. 7 attacks by Hamas have changed the world, and gain insight to pray more effectively, join Metro Voice in attending these events.
