Be Inspired with Tina -The Tina Turner Musical

Tina – The Tina Turner Musical is an inspirational comeback story unlike any other. It This tale of a woman who defied expectations to become the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll opens tonight at the Music Hall and continues through December 10.

Turner, who passed away on May 2023, garnered 12 Grammy Awards and attracted millions of fans to her live performances.  You will experience new heights with this thrilling sensation, set to the heart-pounding soundtrack of her most adored tunes.

The North American touring cast is led by Ari Groover and Parris Lewis who will evenly share the role of Tina Turner, each playing four (of eight) performances a week. The role of Tina Turner is that demanding!   Also starring are Deon Releford-Lee as Ike Turner, Roz White as Zelma Bullock, Wydetta Carter as Gran Georgeanna, and Sarah Bockel as Rhonda.

You will hear her much-loved songs woven between her life’s story including “Let’s Stay together,” “Disco Inferno,” “Proud Mary,” and others that take on new meanings.  Tina, born Anna Mae Bullock, endures childhood trauma, spousal abuse, but finally takes her life into her own hands.  Her live shows set a record for more concert tickets sold than any other solo performer in music history.

Tony Award nominee Phyllida Lloyd serves as the director of the production, which features choreography by Anthony van Laast, and set and costume designs by Mark Thompson.  Written by Tony Award nominee and Pulitzer Prize winner Katori Hall with Frank Ketelaar and Kees Prins, The musical was produced by Stage Entertainment, James L. Nederlander, Tali Pelman, and association with Tina Turner.

From her humble beginnings in Nutbrush, Tennessee, she inspired many around the world to find strength from within.  You will too!

TINA − The Tina Turner Musical is brought to Kansas City by PNC Banks and is recommended for ages 14+. The production includes loud music, strobe lighting, haze, gun shots, scenes depicting domestic violence and strong language. Please note that Tina Turner does not appear in this production.
