The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) announced remarkable growth in its outreach efforts for 2024, with over 53,000 individuals making faith commitments through its various programs, highlighting the organization’s expanding influence in the sports community.
“This month, as we reflect on the birth of our Savior, we are reminded of what Jesus has done to offer us the free gift of salvation, and all He has done with FCA,” said FCA President and CEO Shane Williamson. “We are humbled and grateful for all the student-athletes who came to know Him this year through the ministry.”
The organization, which operates in 115 countries, reported 43,065 faith decisions in the United States and 10,093 internationally during the fiscal year from September 2023 to August 2024. These commitments came through various initiatives including Camps, Huddles, and Fields of Faith events, which bring together student-athletes for peer-led spiritual encouragement.
FCA’s growth comes at a time when traditional religious participation among young Americans is declining, according to the Pew Research Center, making sports ministry an increasingly significant avenue for faith outreach. According to Fox News, the organization has maintained its momentum through innovative programs and digital adaptations.

As part of its commitment to spiritual development, FCA distributed 219,444 Bibles in 2024, contributing to a total of nearly three million over the past 15 years. The Washington Times notes that this distribution effort represents one of the largest faith-based outreach programs in American sports.
Looking ahead, FCA has announced “24/7” as its theme for 2024, based on Romans 15:13 CSB: “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” The theme emphasizes that athletic identity should be secondary to faith identity.
