IDF special forces eliminated a terror cell based in an Arab hospital early Tuesday morning during an “unprecedented” raid. The operation foiled a planned terror attack by Palestinian terrorists who aimed to repeat the Hamas atrocities of Oct. 7.
About a dozen men with firearms are seen in a corridor in a video from Jenin’s Ibn Sina Specialized Hospital surveillance cameras. Most were dressed as civilians including doctors and women. Another held a baby carrier, while another held a foldable wheelchair.
While one group watched the hallway, another entered the three terrorists’ third-floor room where they had set up operations. The soldiers quickly left after the IDF killed the three with silenced handguns. The entire operation took just 10 minutes.
As has been evidenced in Gaza, Palestinian terrorists used the hospital for years as a base from which to launch shooting and bombing attacks against Israeli citizens, according to Israeli security authorities. Jenin is located in the heart of Biblical Samaria and currently controlled by the Palestinian Authority.
One senior official claimed they were naive to think they were safe hiding behind physicians and patients.
“There are no safe places in Judea and Samaria and there never will be,” said the official. “Every terrorist should know. IDF and security will reach them all.”
A joint statement by the IDF, Shabak, and Israeli police stated Mohammed Jalamneh (27), Hamas’ Al Qassem Brigades’ Jenin head and spokesman, was the most significant of the trio. He was preparing an terrorist attack from Palestinian Authority territory into Israel inspired by the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack that killed 1,200 people and started the Gaza Strip war.
Security officials said Jalamneh used the hospital as a hideout and intended an immediate attack, but he was stopped. “We will continue to act against any threat that endangers the security of the State of Israel.”
The senior terrorist, who had street credit after getting hurt trying to use car bombs against Israelis.
All three are known for having committed dozens of acts of terrorism against Israel.
