Missouri’s state capitol of Jefferson City remains stunned by the devastation today after what some say may be categorized as an F-5 tornado hit the city. At least 12 other tornadoes tore through the state killing several people with dozens remaining unaccounted for.

Major damage was reported in the state capital Jefferson City and at least nine people were hospitalized after Wednesday’s twister.

It forced people to take shelter as heavy rain, hail, wind and lightning struck the state, along with neighboring Oklahoma and Kansas.
