Police in Overland Park say they are searching for a suspect in a crime spree this morning that spanned three scenes and left two workers at an elementary school in critical condition. In the first incident, two workers outside Sunrise Point Elementary school in Overland Park were shot and wounded, Overland Police public information officer John Lacy tells CBS News. No students were at the school at the time of the shooting, around 9 a.m.
In the second incident, shots were reported fired at an Overland Park car wash. No one was hurt.
A later carjacking is also believed to be linked to the suspect, Lacy said. The car is described as a Black 2011 Denali with KS Tag 208BAB.
Police were expected to release more details at a press conference later this morning.
This is a developing story.
