World Vision Hopes to Reach 300 Million People by 2030
Humanitarian organization is turning 75

In celebration of its 75th anniversary, World Vision announced the launch of Everyone Needs a Believer, which intends to reach 300 million people in more than 70 countries by 2030.
The capital campaign encompasses a series of strategic projects to empower people with life (water and health); hope (child protection, Christian discipleship and emergency response); and a future (economic empowerment and education). It comes at a time of significant global humanitarian impacts and setbacks, including federal funding cuts, the lasting effects of the pandemic, ongoing violence and conflicts, and rising costs.
“At a time when unimaginable pain and suffering in our world is broadcast in real time and at a higher frequency on social media, it’s normal to feel overwhelmed or question what can be done,” said Edgar Sandoval Sr., president and CEO of World Vision. “However, now more than ever, World Vision chooses to believe that God is faithful and is working in the world through his people.”
The Everyone Needs a Believer campaign sets several goals to be achieved by 2030:
- Reaching 30 million people with access to clean water.
- Engaging 46 million people in 49 countries with Christian discipleship activities and tools to support the spiritual nurture of children, including training 500,000 local pastors and leaders to multiply the impact of local churches.
- Providing access to lifesaving health care for 80 million people and reaching 3,000 health-care facilities with clean water.
- Reaching 65 million people affected by emergencies and humanitarian crises around the globe.
- Improving food security and livelihoods for 50 million people, ensuring they have the tools needed to lift themselves out of extreme poverty.
- Equipping and empowering 150 million women and girls to overcome barriers that keep them from productive and fulfilled lives.
With a presence in nearly 100 countries, World Vision is situated to respond to humanitarian emergencies around the world, protecting lives, supporting dignity and renewing hope. It has 75 years of experience in working with communities, churches, donors, partners and governments to create opportunities for better futures for vulnerable children, even in the places where it’s hardest to be a child.
