Deciding what to do after high school? Checking out colleges and other options? Here’s the cool thing: There’s an event in Kansas City that brings together colleges and other options from across the nation at a college fair like no other. Some of these colleges even offer free or reduced tuition plans. That’s crazy. It’s an easy way to pick up some free gear, get your questions answered and maybe win an Apple watch or other cool stuff.
It’s the 2019 Midwest Christian College Expo on Saturday, March 2. Starts at 10 ends at 2pm. Get in, get out, get on with your weekend. It takes place at Colonial Presbyterian Church, 9500 Wornall Rd, in south Kansas City and has colleges from 17 states.
And don’t miss the free seminars. They’re only 45 minutes long. You won’t get bored. This year there’s two:
10:15 a.m. Are You Ready for the ACT? Most high school students are aware of the ACT test; many students are uncertain of how to study for it. This seminar will present the expectations and structure of the ACT. Early preparation will be stressed as an effective strategy to increase student success while diminishing anxiety.
12:15 p.m. Finding the Most Financial Aid and FAFSA. The college financial aid track is led by the financial aid V.P. of Mid-America Nazarene University. It assists both parents and students in navigating the maze of questions and deadlines they’re confronted with each year.
