Streaming service will focus on the hope and heart of Christmas this season

The hope and heart of Christmas is the theme of this year’s holiday lineup on the faith-based network Great American Pure Flix.

“This is the most wonderful time of the year and an extra-special time for families and friends,” said Bill Abbott, president and CEO of Great American Media. “We are excited to begin spreading the joy of Christmas to our Great American Pure Flix members with uplifting and inspiring movies and programs this season.”

The schedule features a variety of stars, including Candace Cameron Bure, Lori Loughlin, Jen Lilley, Karen Abercrombie, Lucas Black, Trevor Donovan and more. The network hopes to “celebrate the impact of great stories and themes” in relation to Christmas this season. Several specials on the network will touch on a different aspect of the celebration, ranging from “Getting in the Spirit” to “Celebrate Christmas Miracles,” all concluding with “Celebrate Keeping Christ in Christmas.”

On December 1, “My Christmas Hero,” starring Bure and Gabriel Hogan, debuted on the streaming platform. The film included themes of faith, freedom and the joys of the Christmas season.

“U.S. Army reservist and orthopedic physician Nicole Ramsey (Bure) is dedicated to serving military service members and their families at the Joint Military Base in Lacey, Wash.,, home of I Corps and the 62nd Airlift Wing,” the synopsis reads. “This Christmas, with the help of many dedicated heroes, Dr. Ramsey is on a mission to honor a special fallen soldier and bring much-needed healing to her own family.”

Loughlin, Jesse Hutch and James Tupper will star in “A Christmas Blessing,” which focuses on a popular TV star named Mandy Gilmore (played by Loughlin) who leaves her show and plans to travel the world. However, she is met with an unexpected pit stop along the way, which changes everything.

The full Christmas movie lineup is available at www.pureflix.com.

In 2020, Sony acquired Pure Flix.
