Trey Gowdy to headline Vitae pro-life event

Popular former U.S. Congressman Trey Gowdy will be the keynote speaker at the Vitae Foundation’s annual Kansas City pro-life event on Tuesday, September 24.

The Vitae Foundation is a national non-profit organization based in Jefferson City, Mo., that uses ground-breaking digital media campaigns to reach young women facing unplanned pregnancies.  Vitae’s goal is to advance a culture of life.

Trey Gowdy is another in a long list of big names that regularly headline their annual banquets, sharing personal stories laced with “inside’the-beltway” details on our government, politics, culture and, of course, the work of pro-life organizations.

Gowdy tackled high-profile investigations representing South Carolina’s 4th District during his 8-year tenure in the United States Congress.  Gowdy was considered one of the majority’s most versatile and skilled legal experts as a former federal prosecutor and 7th Circuit Solicitor.

During his Solicitor tenure, he started a Violence Against Women Task Force and implemented a Drug Mother Protocol designed to assist expectant mothers break the cycle of addiction.  His pro-life credentials are second to none and has gained him a national following.

The event raises funds to promote a culture of life and to help educate women facing unplanned pregnancies about resources available which can assist them in making a life-affirming decision. Vitae’s Right Brain research and messaging fuels the digital strategies that help Pregnancy Help Centers reach abortion-minded women.

This year’s Vitae event will be held at the Sheraton Overland Park Hotel, 6100 College Blvd., Overland Park, Kan. The event begins at 7 pm.  Cost to attend the dinner is $100 with $50 being tax deductible.
