In the heart of Kansas City, something extraordinary is taking shape. On Friday evening, February 21st, Pray KC invites you to join the first Night with God of 2025—an evening designed to unite believers in worship and prayer for our city.
This gathering marks the beginning of four strategic citywide prayer events planned for 2025, according to John Shirley, lead team member of PrayKC.
Unlike elaborate productions or high-energy conferences, A Night with God offers something different: a peaceful, intimate space where Kansas City’s diverse church community can experience God’s presence together.
The event, while profound, will be simple with talented worship leaders to creating an atmosphere focused on God.
“These evenings are intended to be peaceful, unifying moments for the church in Kansas City to make space for God’s presence for the sake our own hearts and city,” Shirley stated in a video on the organization’s website.
What makes this evening special is its accessibility to everyone. Whether you’re walking through life’s mountaintop moments or navigating its valleys, this gathering is for you. The Pray KC team has thoughtfully crafted an environment where attendees can feel emotionally, relationally, and spiritually safe to pray and worship.
Organizers say this isn’t just another church event, but something where every believer of diverse backgrounds can attend, share a meal and lift their “voices in prayer for Kansas City.”
Pray KC says the evening promises to be a guided experience of prayer and friendship, where the unified Church can gather to seek God’s tangible presence for the wellbeing of our city. “If you’ve been longing for a space to pray alongside others who share your heart for Kansas City, this evening was created with you in mind.”
