In observance of the 4th annual Energy Efficiency Day, the Kansas Corporation Commission and the K-State Engineering Extension’s Kansas Energy Program are partnering for a fun outdoor event, the Kansas Energy Efficiency Expo, focused on energy efficiency. The event is sponsored in part by a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy.
Attendees will be shown ways to save energy and money by making their homes more efficient. The event will include several exhibitors offering services such as insulation, replacement windows, high-efficiency appliances, and public transportation, to name just a few. There will also be activities for the kids and something for all ages at this free event. The fountains at Blue Earth Plaza will be available for kids of all ages.
Numerous vendors will be on hand with demonstrations, displays and giveaways. Prizes include a K-State football signed by Coach Klieman, an Amazon Echo Spot, gift certificates, and more.
There will be live music on the plaza by Chappie, a local Manhattan favorite and 2013 inductee into Kansas Music Hall of Fame. Food will be available for purchase from Smokin’ Willie’s BBQ, Blue Moose and others.
The event will take place on Wednesday, October 2, 2019, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Blue Earth Plaza, 300 Colorado St. in Manhattan, Kansas.
