Lightning strikes Kansas airport

Airport surveillance cameras captured the incredible moment lightning strikes the tarmac at Hutchinson Airport.

A lightning strike during a May 5 storm damaged a portion of the airport’s main apron. Photos were posted on Facebook.

“Here is the video of our lightning strike . . . wait for it . . . wait for it . . . KAPOW!” the airport said in a post.

Airport officials said the airport gets hit by lightning an average of two times a year.
