Communist group to hold anti-Trump rally in Kansas City, other metros on Saturday

Kansas City is one of more than 20 U.S. cities targeted by communist groups for anti-Trump rallies this Saturday. The event is scheduled for noon at 47th and Main Streets at the former J.C. Nichols Fountain.

Refuse Fascism posted this message on its website: “On September 5, we must make a living declaration to the world that we are uniting, we are organizing, we are determined, we are preparing to struggle with all we’ve got, starting now and not stopping until the Trump/Pence regime is driven from power and its fascist program brought to a halt.”

Renowned conservative author and documentary filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza recently referred to Refuse Fascism as part of a left-wing “paramilitary force.” According to a Wikipedia article, the Revolutionary Communist Party and other leftists formed the organization after the 2016 election. Refuse Fascism partially operates out of the communist Revolution bookstore in New York City.

The group’s rhetoric is similar to that surrounding protests in other cities this summer, including the terrorist group Antifa. Democrats this summer have encouraged protests to continue up until the election. That included Sen. Kamala Harris who, on an episode of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” seemingly encouraged the protests.

“They’re not gonna stop, and everyone beware, because they’re not gonna stop,” she stated. “They’re not gonna stop before Election Day in November, and they’re not gonna stop after Election Day.”

“Everyone should take note of that, on both levels, that they’re not going to let up — and they should not. And we should not,” she told Colbert who nodded in agreement.

The group is clear on its website how it intends to remove the Trump administration from office.

“If masses of people are in the streets every day by October, if every attempt by the regime to subvert the election, to repress protest, to implement new fascist measures are met with growing numbers demanding Trump/Pence OUT NOW! In nonviolent protest, we could force a different political equation going into November, constraining Trump’s ability to easily postpone or subvert the election, and we would already be mobilized and prepared if he did so on election day.

“Humanity all over the world and the survival of the planet depends on what we do. Will it be said, when facing an American fascism in the most powerful country in history, that people here could not put aside their differences to stop a great horror? Or will history tell that people rose, as many acting together, and stopped a great horror? In the Name of Humanity, We Refuse to Accept a Fascist America!”

The website does not mention ties to Antifa or other radical organizations but identifies itself as a revolutionary “movement of people coming from diverse perspectives, united in our recognition that the Trump/Pence Regime poses a catastrophic danger to humanity and the planet, and that it is our responsibility to drive them from power through non-violent protests that grow every day until our demand is met.”
